In Winter

She falls into love,

Easily

But with him,

It unfolds differently

She knows

She sees

She waits

Extending her arms

To his brokenness and blanks

His pain glistens

Her ears listen

Over him

In search of his lilt

He's the rhythm of the ocean

She's the glow of the sun

They meet

At the edges of the shore

Where their coolness is one

Folded hands

Slight smiles

Soft brushes

Touches

Refuge

When the moon glows

And maybe one star knows

His thoughts

Her naught

Wine to lips

Hands to hips

Thrusts and sips

Smiles become groans

Desire’s full blown

Her nose glides over

The stubble on his face

His smell leaves a trace

As they blend

Become akin

On white sheets

It repeats

Remaining

Ever so slightly

Out of reach
